Exhibition at Crossbones Graveyard

Announcing Madre Celestial street exhibition!

Really excited to share that my project on Mexican road shrines will be shown as part of Bankside Open Spaces Festival @bostse1!

And at a really fitting and mystical space no less, Crossbones Graveyard. Full details below.

The graveyard is on unconsecrated ground holding the bones of an estimated 15,000 people. The people buried there are mostly paupers who couldn't afford a Church burial, children, and those rejected by the establishment like sex workers. Nowadays the place is looked after by volunteers and is a little sanctuary in the city with a wildflower garden, decorated by visitors bringing tributes to lost souls.

My shrine images are being shown as part of a Latin themed street festival with music, stalls & tours on Saturday 10th June, from 12-9pm.

The exhibition will be on until the 10th July so in case you miss it keep an eye on @crossbonesgraveyard website for opening hours and pop in to explore this rich little patch of the city.

Address: Crossbones Graveyard, Union Street, London SE1 1SD
Dates: 10th June - 10th July
Opening times: Wednesday - Friday, 12-2pm
